4/16/2023 0 Comments Macbook pro m1 bootcampOr I could obviously just go for the base 2021 14” MBP and save $385. For the price of the 2023 14” MBP, I could buy a 16-core GPU, 1 TB SSD 2021 14” MBP, which would give me the advantage of slightly better game performance with greater storage capacity allowing me to do something like side-load Windows. Price-wise, base 2021 14” MBP retails for around $1,750 in my country while base 2023 14” MBP retails for $2,135. Will having a laptop that is two years old (2021 MBP) be a problem in terms of future support? I hope to use my MacBook for at least 5-7 years. Below are some things that I am thinking about: The M1 Pro performance is sufficient for what I’m going to be doing (university work + occasional gaming) so the processor is not my cause for confusion. Looking at my options, I am mainly attracted to the 14“ (screen size doesn’t affect my decision here though as I am comparing the benefits of each size between 20) MacBook Pro but I am stuck between going for the 2021 or the 2023 version. I currently use a 7 year old Dell Inspiron 7567 with an i7-7700HQ, Nvidia GTX 1050Ti, 16GB RAM, and a 128 GB SSD + 1 TB hard drive that is definitely due for an upgrade. I have been a Windows user all my life but I’ve recently purchased an iPhone and iPad and would like to enjoy the full experience with a MacBook.
